Ms. Bliss' Code of Ethics

  1. The designation of “client” shall only apply to individual(s) who enter a therapeutic space comprised of myself and the client(s). In any other context, I will refer to individuals however they are most comfortable, potentially reflecting other types of relationships (Ex: friend, lover, community member, etc).
  2. My primary focus is on my client’s physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental wellbeing and growth. I will always recognize the limitations of my competence and will not attempt to use methods outside the range of my expertise and training.
  3. Consent and choice in somatic practices (and frankly all practices) is of the utmost importance. I will ensure clients are consistently informed about their right to choose and will actively maintain a healing space that promotes empowered, authentic, and continuous consent from clients.
  4. Recognizing that while the client(s) and I share authentic intimacy, I am not looking to fulfill my own sexual desires. In this healing space, erotic touch is unidirectional. If clients wish to learn and practice interpersonal erotic skills, I request they bring a trusted partner.

  5. I will co-create a safe container with clear agreements with my client before engaging in any form of bodywork.

  6. If a touch-based somatic approach is desirable and appropriate, I will always touch consciously with the intent to honor the agreed boundaries established, enforce the safety of all parties, and do no harm.

  7. I will recognize any personal issues I may have that could possibly affect my work and will take appropriate measures to protect and serve my clients by taking breaks. Spiritual, emotional, and physical aliments must be resolved before resuming coaching and clients will be referred to other healers during that time of personal healing.

  8. I will respect, defend, and preserve the identity and confidentiality of all information gained from my client(s). All information (including pictures/videos) gathered in the therapeutic space shall not be communicated to outside parties without written consent of the client except
    1. when there is a clear and imminent danger to the client(s) or society and then only to appropriate professional colleagues or public authorities.
    2. for the purpose of professional consultation with appropriate professional colleagues; preserving client’s anonymity.
    3. for the purpose of professional presentation; preserving client’s anonymity.

  9. I will take adequate precautionary measures against the transmission of communicable diseases and infections and ensure my client has taken similar precautionary measures to protect the heath of myself and my clients. Every session will include education about risk-reduction steps and hygiene protocol with sufficient facilities/supplies provided to clients to maintain protocol.

  10. I will not tolerate any bigotry directed towards myself, toward my clients, or the community at large.

  11. I expect our shared time and space to be honored as I will do the same. For the purposes of our sessions this means entering the space with openness to the possibility of healing and pleasure, honoring and expressing your truth, you internal and enthusiastic yeses and identifying and stating your nos.
